Leonardo Academy is working to advance sustainable agriculture. The whole world is facing unprecedented challenges that will affect agriculture for today and for future generations. There are challenges in many areas including:

• Soil (soil loss, degradation, loss of arable land)
• Water (supply, efficiency, quality)
• Energy (use, supply, efficiency, emissions)
• Growing demand for food and agricultural products
• Climate change

Sustainable agriculture is needed to help solve these issues.

The Work in Progress
To advance sustainable agriculture Leonardo Academy is leading a multi-stakeholder process that is developing a standard for Sustainable Agriculture using the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard development process. This work is developing guidance for sustainable agriculture that addresses all three components of sustainability: economic, environmental, and social.
